David Rodriguez was born in San Diego, California. He was always an athlete, and did many sports since a young age. He moved to Phoenix, Arizona at the age of 12. David started dancing at Arizona State University at the age of 18, after an advisor suggested it as a form of stress relief from the hectic schedule of an Aerospace Engineering student. Soon after he discovered his passion for dancing and started competing. Since then David has done numerous competition all across the United States in the Pro-Am and Amateur-Amateur divisions. In 2007 David started teaching dance in Phoenix, and a year later while perusing his passion and dreams competition he moved to Montreal and started teaching for Patricia Contenta at Arthur Murray Laval. He is now competing with his partner, Valérie Emond in the Professional Latin category, and with students in the Pro-Am category. Above all else David loves to share his passion with every person that he meets, and is truly blessed that he has a chance to change peoples' lives through dance just as his was changed.
